This week has been one strange week, with us getting almost 6 inches of snow on Monday. To Tuesday being showered with snow and ice again. I was glad when Wednesday came and the best sound I had heard all week was the sound of melting ice. After two days of being stuck in the apartment both Virginia and I were starting to grate on each others nerves.
All I wanted to do was escape the apartment and get some fresh air. All Virginia wanted to do was play with me 24/7 and to be in my arms as much as possible. Needless to say both of us were running low on patience. Virginia was finding adventure by tossing her pacifier into the hole in the side of the surround sound speaker and watching me play operation with a flashlight in one hand and kitchen tongs in another trying to fish out the pacifier. I was calling my mom in Gastonia about every hour just to have an adult conversation and for her to tell me to calm down and that Virginia just needed a visit to grandma's. I believe both of us are way past due for a visit to grandma's house.
Luckily for me FoxFire bowling leagues were scheduled for regular time. I was worried with the ice that my Wednesday night league was going to be cancelled. My bowling league is my one escape during the week that gives me some time to unwind and gain some of my patience back. Reiggin was more then a little concerned with me driving to the bowling alley. But I reassured him that I would drive extra slow and be very careful. I was determined one way or another I was getting out of the apartment no matter what.
The sidewalk outside of my apartment looked like a sea of ice. Foot traffic though out the day of people coming and going made the sidewalk look like the ocean before a big storm. I managed to safely get from the sidewalk to my car without busting my butt. The roads were in great condition and I had no trouble making it to the bowling alley.
Turned out to be just me and Shane bowling for our team. Faby prebowled and Steve and Crystal were both deathly sick. Faby's scores were all above her average so that was great. We had to minus ten points from Steve and Crystal's averages, but that was no big deal. We are currently in 4th place out of 8 teams. We were playing Just for Fun last night and they are in last place so I was determined that we were going to win all three games and take total pins. We had to give the other team 55 pins to start with since their handicap was higher then ours.
The games went quick with just a few lane break downs. I ended up with a 156, 118, and a 135. Not my best scores, but all were pretty close or over my average of 136. Also I am happy to report we won all three games and took total pins for a total of 8 points. Hopefully this weeks wins will push us up to either first or second place. Crossing my fingers, I believe we have a strong chance of winning first place for this quarter which qualifies us for the final roll off at the end of the season to determine who wins the whole season.
After a refreshing night of bowling and 3 hours away from the apartment. I am in much better spirits this morning. I even may get all the Christmas items packed away and clean the apartment from top to bottom. Virginia even seems to be in a better mood after a night of playing with Daddy all by herself. Looks like the day ahead is going to be a good one.
Here are some silly photos of Virginia from Wednesday that I just had to share.
Thinking....
Thinking a little harder....
Thinking super hard.......
Bingo solution found!
Now for a face to face conversation with Mommy to tell me all about it.
