Cooking for beginners!

Ok so after finishing this post I decided that I would try to be a great wife and have dinner ready for my husband when he got home from work. Ok, I am not the best cook so I thought, "let's just start off simple." So I decided to make tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Simple enough, right? Oh so wrong was I. I started the soup first and, keep in mind it is my first time cooking in my new house. I quickly discovered that my stove heats up fast. As the soup is heating I was fixing the grilled cheese. As I am buttering the sandwiches all of a sudden the soup over boils and spills everywhere on the stove. At least I had enough sense to take the soup off the heat. So that is the first disaster. Next, on my frying pan, the butter is crusting up on the pan so the sandwich is sticking to it. So I try to use my spatula. Well I learned that you should not use a plastic spatula with high heat. It will melt. Oh yeah. One spatula down and about 2 grilled cheese sandwiches burnt to a crisp. I switch pans and make 2 sandwiches that are not completely burnt and Reiggin comes though the door. I thought for sure the house probably smelled like I had burned the kitchen down. But my husband is super sweet and said everything smelled great. And he ate it all and said it was delicious. He is too kind to me. Hopefully next dinner will go a little more smooth.

What a change!

Hey everyone! I know it has been awhile. But I have been very
busy. My Mom and I have finished planning my wedding and I am officially Mrs. Kathy Ford Hilderbrand. And I am loving it. We spent a day up in Virginia Beach. We checked out the Virginia Aquarium, which was awesome. I believe the best thing was the turtles and otters. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon at Virginia Beach. The weather was perfect. We walked along the beach and then decided to ride this two seater tricycle. It was a blast! I laughed so much. And then, on the ride back, it started to pour down rain. I mean raining cats and dogs! I couldn't help but laugh as both me and Reiggin were soaked through and through. But we both had a blast.

Next we made our way up to Washington, D.C. for t
hree days.  We ran into some bad traffic but finally made it to our hotel. After about a hour of driving around D.C. we found a place to eat. The next day we spent the whole day walking around downtown D.C. My feet were killing me but we saw so much. I saw the Capitol, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and lots of museums. It was a blast and I took more pictures then you can believe.

So now we are back at home in Troutman, NC.
Everything is going smooth. I am slowly
learning to be a great wife I believe. I have mastered the washing machine with Reiggin's help. And slowly but surely the house is getting cleaned. I think I may need some work before I am a great grocery shopper like my husband Reiggin. But I think I will be able to master this soon.

So everything is going great. Monday I start my new job at GA Communciations. Wish me luck. I am a little nervous about starting a new job and just wanting to do the best job ever. And I need to find a new baby doctor and sign up for baby classes. Also I need to get my name changed on all my documents and accounts. It is only about 3 months til Virginia will be joining us. So as you can tell I have a busy few months ahead of me. But I am excited about all the changes going on in my life. I have a great husband and soon we will have a beautiful baby girl, Virginia. So stay tuned and I will try to keep you all informed on what is going on.

Flowers and More Flowers!!

Well with my new home I am determined to have a beautiful yard just like my parents. My mom and dad have always been great with the yard. My dad keeps the grass as green and trimmed as possible. Whenever anyone comes over the first thing out of their mouth is WOW your yard is amazing. That is something I hope one day for my home. So here are some recent photos of my parents prize flowers. I would say they border on obsessive . There is not a weekend that goes by that one of them is not bringing home new flowers. So enjoy the photos!

Fun Times with the Gang!

Here are some fun pictures from my girls' night out! We first went to Ruby Tuesdays and then met up with the guys for a fun night of bowling.

Virginia Leigh Hilderbrand

Here are a few new ultrasound pictures that were made this week. I hope you all enjoy. I know both me and Reiggin were laughing so hard when we saw Virginia had both legs up at her head and butt up in the air. Don't ask me who she gets that from. Also before I forget everyone has to go check out the great website that Reiggin made for Virginia and make sure to go to the bottom of the page and make your guess on her weight and birthdate.
