Hello Snow

To my delight I woke up to the sight of about 4 to 6 inches of snow outside our apartment. I was sad that Reiggin still had to drive to work that morning. But luckily he made it to work and home safe and sound. Virginia loved the snow just as much as I did. She kept pointing outside and finally after her nap I asked if she wanted to head out.

We layered up and grabbed her sand bucket and shovels and headed down the stairs. At first Virginia was shy and was not about to step foot in the snow. Until I gave her the choice of getting out of my arms or going back inside. Once she got down and started playing she was a snow baby. I didn't think I was going to get her to go back inside. She shoveled and cleared all the bushes off. She waved at all the people walking by. I even caught her sticking her tongue out trying to catch some snow on her tongue. Finally after I was freezing since I was the smart one that didn't have gloves on, I promised Virginia some Hot chocolate if she would go inside for a bit. She shook her head with excitement at that idea.

We came in for a bit and had us some hot chocolate and some lunch. Then Virginia was ready for round two. It didn't take any time for her to hop down and start playing. I was a little wiser this time and had more layers on and was warm. She shoveled some more, but decided that she was ready for an adventure. Virginia started on her way down the side walk. So off we are going down the side walk towards the back of the apartments. I was starting to worry because I knew I was going to be the one that would be carrying her back up the hill to the apartment.

To my delight we came upon some kids that were sledding down this steep hill on the backside of the apartments. Virginia thought this was the best thing. She was waving and giggling watching the boys sled down and then try their best to make it back up the steep hill. I was giggling a little to as one boy ends up losing his shoe on the hill and another one loses his pants trying to climb up the hill. Reminded me of the Cedar Groves days when all the kids would gather in front of our house and sled down the road into the woods.

I looked at Virginia and asked her if she wanted to sled down the hill. To my surprise she shook her head with a big yes. So here I go and ask these kids if I can borrow their sled ( aka tupperware storage lid). The kid looks at me and Virginia and says are you really going to sled down the hill. He obvisously doesn't know that me and Virginia are dare devils. I gave a big hell yeah or maybe just a yes. All the boys were excited to see us go down the year. They all thought Virginia was the cutest and coolest thing. I am sure they thought I was pretty cool to or maybe just the crazy old white lady. I will take either one. So I was excited Virginia enjoyed her first sled ride and we both made it back up the hill in one piece.

Once Reiggin got home we enjoyed a good supper and ended the night with making mini snowmen in the bathroom. Along with a snow ball fight against the bathroom wall. Virginia thought this was the best thing ever. I am sure we will have more snow adventures tomorrow since it doesn't look like the snow is going away just yet.
