Virginia insisted on wanting to cut. She wanted to cut the pattern pieces out with me. But I knew her cutting skills are not quite ready for cutting patterns, even if this one was pretty simple. Maybe bunny number two I will let her cut the pieces out. So I grabbed some scrap pieces of paper and let her use her craft scissors to cut while I took care of the pattern pieces. She was thrilled.
The whole project went pretty quickly. I just had a few hiccups. I think I ended up cutting the tail out three times trying to figure out how to get the pom pom butt. The third time was the charm and I figured out my mistake. Also my sewing machine decided not to work with me at first. But in the end I came out with a super cute Bunny puppet for Virginia. I started singing Little Bunny Foo Foo while Virginia was playing with the puppet and she declared that was the bunny's name. But when she says Foo Foo it sounds more like Poo Poo. I had to giggle a little.
I am hoping to make a puppet stage like the one found on Skip To My Lou for Virginia's Door Way.
